Competing against entries from 30 other firms across the State, The Copelands Project Environmental Impact Report (EIR) team, including Cannon Associates, won the award for "sound technical analysis, clear graphics and techniques in visual analysis." The award was presented by the California Association of Environmental Professionals for "Outstanding Environmental Analysis."
The award was presented to AMEC Earth and Environmental for an EIR on a mixed-used revitalization project in downtown San Luis Obispo. Two Blocks of the downtown were planned for development and the EIR was commissioned to assess changes to the site, which would include a three-story multi-use building and a 5-story parking garage.
Cannon Associates is an expert in visual analysis in the state of California. Mr. Andrew Merriam, a licensed architect and certified land use planner has held a multitude of demonstrations and seminars exhibiting Cannon Associates visual analysis techniques.

Jeff Zambo has been promoted to Survey Manager of Bakersfield Operations for Cannon Associates. This promotion will take Zambo to the Bakersfield office where he will oversee a strong team of project surveyors and manage surveying services for projects throughout the eastern half of California.
Zambo has been with Cannon Associates for ten years.

After 35 years of dedicated service in the planning profession and an illustrious career marked with significant achievements Andrew Merriam has decided to retire from Cannon Associates.Andrew will make the transition from Director of Planning to Senior Consultant as of June 1, 2003. He will continue to maintain his current clients and remain available to consult exclusively with Cannon Associates on firm wide and major project issues.
